GLOBAL ASSEMBLY 2021 ON ‘TACKLING CLIMATE CRISIS AND GLOBAL POVERTY AND INEQUALITY’

Venue - Debate Chamber of Glasgow University Union, G12 8LX. Organized by The Centre for Development (CfD), Real-World Economist Dr Zasheem Ahmed convened the Global Assembly 2021. He welcomed the audience and briefly explained the theme of the Global Assembly Conference.

Prof John Struthers, Director of the  Centre for African Research on Enterprise and Economic Development (CAREED), University of the West of Scotland, moderated the Global Assembly Sessions, and Prof Luisa Brunori, University of Bologna, Italy Wrapped-Up the Global Assembly 2021.

The Day-long Global Assembly included a Special Conference Session on New Economics of 5-Optima (Corona Health Crisis & Vaccine, Climate Change & Nature, Poverty & Livelihood, AI & Job Losses, Inequality & Welfare). Aftermath of the Inaugural January 2021 and Special Issue (November 2021) - matching the core focus of COP26, the Journal of New Economics (JNE) was officially launched from the Global Assembly podium, amid the presence of a handful of Adam Smith scholars.

Nobel Peace Laureate Muhammad Yunus delivered Global Assembly 2021 Keynote Speech on “Tackling Climate Crisis and Global Poverty & Inequality”.
